Frequently Asked Questions

How long is a session?

At Redmond MPS, sessions are 75 minutes, which includes:

What techniques do you use?

I use a combination of deep tissue, trigger point massage, biodynamic Craniosacral therapy, and Somatic Experiencing.

Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle and non-invasive tool that helps me to communicate with the part of your nervous system that causes your muscles to tense when they would benefit from relaxing.

Somatic Experiencing is a holistic method of completing unresolved emotional holding, stress, anxiety, trauma, and PTSD.

Note that I am not a licensed mental health counselor. My approach focuses on your physiology and not your psychology.

Is the massage painful?

No.

At Redmond MPS, we celebrate good hurt – that satisfying hurt we feel when we exercise and can sense something beneficial is happening. I always strongly advise avoiding pain during treatment. You can help by providing feedback when the pressure is too deep. When you do, I will thank you because I am here to relieve pain and not cause it.

What kind of pressure do you use?

I can work at whatever depth you prefer: from gentle enough for a delicate and fragile newborn, to deep enough to provide therapeutic benefit for those who prefer deeper pressure.

Do I have to disrobe?

No.

You decide if, when, and where you are comfortable with my making direct contact. Alternatively, you may prefer me to work through your clothing and/or the top sheet and blanket. Either way, you can always confidently anticipate a beneficial session with my full and enthusiastic support.

How do you help protect me from COVID-19 and other bacterial & viral infections?

How much does a session cost?

The fee for a session is $150 and is due at the conclusion of your session.

Do you accept gratuities & tips?

I do not accept tips. Any benefit you experience as a result of our work together is incalculably more valuable to me.

Do you accept my insurance?

I do not seek reimbursement from any insurance providers. This includes PIP and L&I. I am happy to provide a super bill for clients who wish to seek reimbursement from their insurance company.
